Fostering saves lives and is the foundation of our rescue. Jersey Pits Rescue Inc. covers all medical care, supplies and food costs associated with fostering. All you need to do is provide love and a temporary home! 

 

We (JPR) are available for guidance. Our main goal and priority is to find all of our dogs the best home possible and we try to do so in the shortest amount of time. Please understand that fostering is a HUGE commitment, and that the foster dog remains in your care until it is adopted which could be anywhere from weeks, to several months to even as long as a year plus. 

 

Foster Process:​

• Complete our foster application

• We require that all of your current pets are up to date on shots and neutered/spayed

• If any other dogs are in the home, a meeting on neutral territory is required to ensure a good match

• We require a home visit and 2 character references

• We ask that you be available to bring your foster dog to adoption events, vet appointments, meets etc.

• We do not allow any of our foster dogs in dog parks, off leash in public or to meet any other dogs (outside of the home) without a member of JPR present. NO EXCEPTIONS.
